Buffalo, N.Y., February 4, 2016 — Rich Family Foundation today announced grants benefitting several agencies in Buffalo with a specific focus on education initiatives emphasizing needs on the city’s West Side. When combined with the previously announced $250,000 donation to Explore & More Children’s Museum, financial pledges from the Foundation in this grant cycle total $1M.
“Our success is intertwined with the indomitable spirit, strong work ethic and optimism of Buffalo,” said Bob Rich Jr., Chairman, Rich Family Foundation and Rich Products Corporation. “We cannot consider ourselves a success in business if those around us are struggling. We are committed to contributing to positive, substantive change, especially in the lives of those living on the West Side of Buffalo so that new ideas can be nurtured and bright futures may be imagined.”
The Foundation has partnered with community organizations that align with its long-standing mission of supporting strong and healthy families with an emphasis on education. In addition to Explore & More, grants will support: Say Yes to Education Buffalo ($500,000); Massachusetts Avenue Project’s Farmhouse Community Food Training & Resource Center ($200,000); and Read to Succeed Buffalo ($50,000).
The Rich Family Foundation gifts complement the business investment Rich Products has made in Buffalo’s West Side as evidenced by the completion of the recent $18.5 million renovation project at its world headquarters on Niagara Street.
“The renewed energy in Buffalo is palpable and these donations help to ensure that our neighbors on the West Side of Buffalo can fully participate in the thrilling resurgence of a great city,” said Mindy Rich, Vice Chair, Rich Family Foundation and Rich Products Corporation. “While diverse in their missions, these organizations share our belief that education consistently offers a proven and sustainable path to advancement.”
