As Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Rich Products Corporation, Jim Deuschle is responsible for all aspects of financial leadership, including financial planning, reporting and information systems, as well as for Rich’s Global Supply Chain function.
He is a member of Rich’s Executive Strategic Leadership Team that guides the company’s business strategy and reports to the CEO. He also leads Rich’s Enterprise Risk Management Team and oversees the strategic planning process.
Jim started his career in the Buffalo office of the international accounting and consulting firm Ernst & Young. He was a senior manager responsible for planning and executing audits and reporting for a range of clients with a focus on manufacturing and service companies. He served as the director of collegiate recruiting at Ernst & Young to identify, select and retain professional personnel.
A Rich’s associate since September 1994, Jim has held various leadership positions throughout the organization and has extensive experience managing all financial groups. He started in the company as the director of internal audit and led the international assessment of risk areas by developing a model to identify and prioritize auditable areas. He also worked with external auditors on the completion of annual audit procedures to maximize the value of external audits.
In 1995, Jim was named the corporate controller at Rich’s to lead the development of data warehousing capabilities to facilitate financial forecasting and analysis for product and customer profitability. He also completed significant private-placement debt offerings to meet long-term growth funding requirements and provided financial analysis for acquisitions and internal investments in excess of $100 million. In 1999, he was promoted to vice president of corporate planning and business development to oversee financial planning, strategic business planning and acquisition integration.
In addition to his community involvement with organizations in Western New York, Jim is a member of the board of trustees for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Western New York and a member of the Canisius College Council of Accountancy. He also is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
A certified New York State public accountant, Jim received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Canisius College and an executive MBA from the University at Buffalo. He is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Executive Management Program, which brings together political and business leaders from around the world.
