Rich Products Vietnam stirred up interest in their beverage category at the Vietnam International Café Show 2018, the region’s largest coffee show of the year, in Ho Chi Minh City. Major coffee brands were in attendance alongside space devoted to new products and services in the Vietnamese food and beverage industry.
Two years ago, Rich’s collaborated with the leaders of the Vietnam Café Show to create an exciting new beverage competition for baristas and mixologists called the Vietnam Signature Battle (VSB). This year, Rich’s hosted workshops for the entrants throughout the country. More than 50 entrants posted videos for the initial round and then the judges narrowed the field to 16 for the head-to-head competition at the Café Show.
“The energy and creativity of VSB’s participants, along with the learnings gained by the audience, has become the biggest draw at the Café Show,” said Wendy Barth, Vice President, Marketing & R&D/ in Rich’s Asia Pacific Region.
VSB is a great platform for Rich’s to connect with the emerging barista and mixologist community as a leader in the beverage arena. This year’s competition was even more exciting because the participants could leverage Rich’s new all-natural syrups, which offer a wide-range of unique flavors with which the contestants could create truly inspired drinks.
This year’s VSB winner, Hang, received $5,000 USD and will represent Vietnam in a global competition at the Seoul Café Show in late 2018. Hang will also be a Rich’s ambassador for one year, working with Rich Products Vietnam on new recipes and ideas that will be featured in beverage customer workshops as well as on Rich’s Foodservice/Café Facebook page.
